Although things may appear a little different we are still the same dedicated team we were before the virus, and we hope that even with the new normal we can still deliver the friendly and sincere level of care that has been our benchmark at the Castle Hotel.
In order for us to keep you safe, and allow you to feel confident and secure in our environment we have many safety measures in place.
Check-in time is from 4pm onwards to allow our staff as much time as possible to clean the bedrooms.
On the day of your arrival, you will be contacted by the hotel to advise you of our check-in procedures, and to ask if you have any Covid symptoms.
Check-in will be contactless. A welcome pack will contain our safety guidance, tea and coffee selection, menu and disinfected key. Your bedroom will have been misted with an electrostatic spray before your arrival to ensure you are entering a completely hygienic environment.
Unfortunately there will no longer be a porterage service, however if anyone has difficulty we will keep your luggage in the hallway to be disinfected by a member of staff and brought to your room later in the day.
Once inside your room, you will notice that we have removed all decorative pillows and bedspreads. The remote control will be in a clear plastic packet, to enable you to use this without any direct contact with the device itself. No-one will enter your room to clean, unless this is requested by you. In which case you will have to vacate the room to allow our staff safe entry. A plastic bag will be available for used towels. This can be tied and left outside your door and the housekeeping staff will replace same.
You can decide whether to have room service for your meals or eat in the public dining areas. If you choose the latter simply book a table with reception. If you decide to eat in, again place your order with reception and the time you would like dinner to be delivered to your room. This will then be left outside your door on a luggage rack for your convenience and a staff member will knock, to let you know it is there. When you have finished, simply place the tray back outside on the rack for collection.
Breakfast will be served in the dining room and guest will be allocated their own table for the duration of their stay. Simply book a time slot on your arrival. Or you might prefer one of our breakfast boxes, with an addition of a bacon or egg bun to take with you.
In our public dining areas, our tables will be placed 2 metres apart for safety. Your order will be taken by a waitress in mask and probably safety shield at a one metre distance. Your dinner will arrive on a tray with condiments and cutlery. It will be placed on a table beside you to help yourself.
We have decided in the interest of safety for our staff not to accept cash payments, and for our guests to use contactless cards where possible.
There will be hand sanitisers at all major traffic areas. The hotel will operate a one way system, and for your peace of mind, staff will have temperature checks before each shift. We also have a strict hand washing policy in place.
For all our outside guests, booking for Dinner or Lunch will be essential, as we cannot overcrowd our restaurants. We will also require your contact details which we will hold for one month in the case of an emergency, and temperatures will be checked on arrival.
All of us at the Castle Hotel are committed to keeping you safe, and we hope you will keep us safe too.
Thank you for your patience during this most difficult time, let each of us try, to never let it come back again.
